Adjacent to a scheduled ancient monument, Castle View is a carefully considered replacement dwelling with a design that responds to both the historic context and typology of the street.
Split over a series of levels, the building maximises the available space of the small site close to the centre of town. A muted palette of materials including grey brick and silvered timber defines the layers of the building and acknowledges the grey flint of the adjacent castle without copying.
